8:00 AM - Grab a cup of coffee or some breakfast to start your adventure in Pensacola and get fueled up before hitting a park or trail. Pensacola is home to several places to get outdoors and enjoy nature’s beauty. The best part? They’re accessible! Some of our favorite spots include Tarklin Bayou and Fort Pickens.
At Tarkiln Bayou, hop on the boardwalk that takes you into nature. In spring and summer, you might spot the carnivorous pitcher plant, At the end of the boardwalk, overlook Tarkiln Bayou itself and you might get a glimpse of even more wildlife. Tarkiln Bayou is the perfect peaceful walk that allows you to truly relax and connect with nature.
At Fort Pickens located in the Gulf Islands National Seashore, you can explore pieces of history, all while enjoying the great outdoors. You can explore the historic fort, see multiple batteries, fish from the shore or pier, hike the trails, go birdwatching, and take in scenic views of the Gulf. Keep your eyes peeled, you never know what kind of wildlife you may see while at Fort Pickens. While there, you’ve got to stop at the visitor information center located near the fort, they’ve also got a small history museum as well.
12:30 PM - It's time to head downtown! Snag some lunch to refuel before your afternoon of history. Uncover Pensacola’s history and experience the America’s First Settlement Trail. It’s an adventure for everyone and allows you to see how Pensacola came to be the way it is today. The trail boasts 20 stops and more than 70 points of interest.
7:00 PM - In Pensacola there are plenty of options to roll on down to the sand and enjoy a beach sunset. If you’re looking to go to the sand, there are several options of beaches that have mobi mats. Casino Beach is a prime spot in the center of Pensacola Beach. There’s also Quietwater Beach, located on the sound side of Santa Rosa Island. Quietwater Beach is also home to the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk if you’re looking to grab a treat, stop in some shops, or grab a bite to eat. Park West on Pensacola Beach has several wooden boardwalks and picnic table areas on the Gulf Side, and Park West Sound Side has a sidewalk as well as picnic tables. Another popular spot is the Pensacola Beach Pier.
