The Sun Belt Conference

The Sun Belt Conference basketball tournament will be played in Pensacola, FL on March 5-8, 2021 marking the beginning of NCAA March Madness. The 12 men’s and women’s Sun Belt teams be competing at the Pensacola Bay Center and Pensacola State Community College. Pensacola will serve as home to the Sun Belt Conference basketball tournament through the 2024-25 season.

“Pensacola is a popular destination for the people who live in our geographic footprint and is centrally located to the Sun Belt Conference members and their communities,” said Sun Belt Commissioner Keith Gill. “We look forward to four exciting days of basketball that will culminate in two teams earning invitations to participate in the NCAA Basketball Championships.”

All 12 conference members will compete in the single-elimination Sun Belt championships. The women’s and men’s champions will be crowned on Monday, March 8 and will advance to the NCAA Women’s and Men’s Basketball Tournament.

The first round of the tournament will include four games for the men and for the women on Friday, March 5. The top four teams in the conference will receive a bye and will face the first round winners on Saturday, March 6. Semi-finals will be played on Sunday and the finals will follow on Monday. The men’s and women’s brackets will each include a total of 11 games to be played over the course of four days.

The Sun Belt Conference is made up of 12 members: App State, Arkansas-Little Rock (Little Rock), Arkansas State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Louisiana, Louisiana-Monroe (ULM), South Alabama, Texas-Arlington (UTA), Texas State and Troy.
