Jingle All the Way to Pensacola this Holiday Season

Pensacola sure doesn’t see a lot of snow, and we have been known to wrap palm trees in strings of colored lights, but that doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate a good cup of hot chocolate, holiday cheer and celebrating the winter season.

Holiday Downtown

Downtown Pensacola begins to twinkle the day after Thanksgiving as 400,000 lights are illuminated in the First City Lights Ceremony. City-goers will experience music, shopping, food, art and nightlife under a glowing canopy illuminating historic buildings, parks, shops, galleries and outdoor spaces. Visitors can navigate the eclectic district that’s anchored by Palafox Street—named one of America’s “Ten Great Streets”—on foot or by Segway®, horse and carriage, pedi-cab or a free Downtown Trolley.

Kids and Christmas Tree in Downtown Pensacola

To continue the holly, jolly festivities, Winterfest continues throughout downtown Pensacola the end of the year. This season-long lineup boasts events as traditional as “The Nutcracker” and as modern as Pop-Up Opera. Throughout the holidays, you may chance upon live street performances, caroling in the streets, Santa posing for photos and Winterfest Trolley Tours.

Downtown Christmas Tree

Outside of downtown, the Wonderland of Lights will illuminate the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds from November 23 – December 30. Guests will have the opportunity to drive through dazzling displays of electric cheer and holiday scenes. But wait, there’s more! Santa’s village will include a holiday market, festive artwork, Christmas critters such as ponies and camels for the kids to ride on and Santa’s House complete with Kris Kringle himself listening to the wishes of children.

And for the parade fanatics we have all the possibilities for you. Stay on island time and watch as lighted boats drift across Little Sabine and Santa Rosa Sound. For those into something more traditional, you can catch Santa cruising down Via Deluna Drive on Pensacola Beach or through the streets of Downtown Pensacola.
