9:30 AM Stroll Along Palafox – Palafox is filled with shops, restaurants, museums, and history to explore. Discover America’s First Settlement Trail! Along this trail are twenty stops and over seventy points of interest. Along the trail, you will see sites from as early as 1756, when the Spanish built Fort San Miguel in what is now Downtown Pensacola. Also, in the Downtown area, you’ll find the Museum of History, Museum of Art, The Children’s Museum, Historic Village, and more. Also while you're there, be sure to keep your eye out for the pelican statues. Check out the Pelican Passport to find them all.
Pro Tip: If you happen to be in Downtown Pensacola on a Saturday, be sure to stop by Palafox Market. It takes place from 9 AM - 2 PM and is located in MLK Plaza and Plaza Ferdinand.

2:00 PM Adventure Afternoon – The next stop on your spring day will be Big Lagoon State Park. Big Lagoon is a great place to go birdwatching, as the saltwater marshes attract many birds. You never know what you might see. While you’re there, a great place to enjoy the fresh air and get those gorgeous water views is the Observation Tower. Climb 177 steps to the top – it's worth it! Big Lagoon is also a popular spot for camping, picnicking, hiking, kayaking, crabbing, and canoeing. It’s a beautiful place to get outdoors and enjoy some spring sunshine in Pensacola.
5:30 PM Pizza Picnic + Beach Sunset – Once you’re finished up at Big Lagoon, it’s time to get ready for a pizza picnic on the beach! Stop by Lillian’s Pizza in Perdido Key to grab a pie for dinner! Lillian’s is a local favorite, making it the perfect pizza stop. Now that you’ve gotten your pizza head to the beach for sunset. There are plenty of beach options you can go to in Perdido Key. You can head to Johnson Beach at Gulf Islands National Seashore or head to one of the Public Beach Access Points in Perdido Key. If you go to Johnson Beach, there are pavilions you could eat at. Or if you prefer to put your toes in the sand, bring a bed sheet to sit on – this way you’ve got room for everyone to sit and enjoy your meal. Either way – watching a beach sunset with a slice of pizza is going to be a win!
