Long before America’s founding in 1776, two coastal destinations were shaping the story of a nation yet to be born. Pensacola, founded in 1559 as America’s First Settlement, and St. Augustine, established in 1565 as America’s First City, stand as living testaments to the endurance, culture, and curiosity that defined our earliest chapters. Together, these destinations invite you to journey through time—exploring centuries of discovery, resilience, and connection that continue to inspire the America we know today.

At 295 feet in length, Eagle is the largest tall ship flying the stars and stripes and the only active square-rigger in United States government service. Constructed in 1936 by the Blohm and Voss Shipyard in Hamburg, Germany, and originally commissioned as the Horst Wessel by the German Navy, Eagle was a war reparation for the United States following World War II.
